Operation and Maintenance Decision Support System for Photovoltaic Systems

Operation and maintenance (O&M) monitoring strategies are important for safeguarding optimum photovoltaic (PV) performance while also minimizing downtimes due to faults. An O&M decision support system (DSS) was developed in this work providing recommendations of actionable decisions resolve fault loss events. The proposed DSS operates entirely on raw field measurements incorporates technical asset financial management features. Historical from a large-scale PV installed Greece were used the benchmarking procedure. results demonstrated benefits performing mitigation actions case near zero power production incidents. Stochastic simulations that consider component malfunctions failures exhibited net economic gain approximately 4.17 €/kW/year when actions. For an electricity price 59.98 €/MWh, minimum 8.4% energy per year is required offsetting annualized cost value 7.45 calculated by SunSpec/National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) Cost Model.
